Love is air
Love is water
Love is light
Love is shelter
Love is freedom
How do we choose to experience life and love? Each element can add enrichment or limitation, it is up to us to choose how each affects us.
It is wise for us to seek shelter, it can keep us warm and safe. It gives us a place we can come back to. If we only experience life from the shelter however, our view of the world becomes very limited, only providing what we see from within. Sheltered love will fool you into believing there is only limitation.
Life can be so much more than that. We can ford from the shelter and breathe fresh air, drink fresh water, and experience the light far more than we did before.
We can choose to drink the fresh clean water of the fast-flowing streams or we can place the water in a vessel and experience it from there. Both choices can be wise, but we shouldn’t fool ourselves into believing that water can only come from the vessel, that we horde away and consume cautiously in limitation. The same water that was once pure becomes still, stagnate and unhealthy. Remember the limitless water of the stream, that we can also plunge our cup deep there and drink. When we do, the stream is not diminished, it is still full and pure.
We can choose to experience light in the same way. Do we keep it blocked off as if watching an eclipse through a sliver in the paper, or do we remember that the light has no limits, no bounds. The sun sends its light to the universe without question and without judgment.
We must remember that love is boundless, it can be given and received without diminishing. There is no finite amount. It is to be given freely and received without judgment or condition.
If you are lucky enough to be given love do not judge it. Love does not need to be defined or quantified. Love will not run out as if poured only from the small vessel. It is the stream, the air and the shelter that allows us to have a full life, trust that when it is given it is true. It is then that you can experience true freedom.
