Haven’t I seen you somewhere?

Hi friends –

Dad and I were at his physical therapy session today, and almost everything was normal. Running late due to a 7:00 am work meeting – check! Watching the clock to get back for the next meeting – check! Our regular assigned therapist – Nope. That’s okay because I love everyone there, even if she was a bit more cautious than usual. I think she was afraid to break Dad. To be fair, he was a bit spastic today. I had a hard time with my down-stay because I wanted to keep a close eye on him; He wouldn’t know pain if it hit him with a bus. Really, I keep an eye on a few of the recent regulars. Dad watched my reaction and said hello to someone without looking at him, then he told me he was okay…that got a chuckle from the crowd. I guess that just shows how well we know each other.

We were about to wrap up for the day and there was talk about a couple that entered a few minutes earlier. One was a gentleman with silver hair, the other a woman with a camera slung around her neck. The staff mentioned that they were media folks for the shopping center we were in. Dad looked up to see them talking to each other and glancing at me repeatedly. They were there to showcase the shops, increase traffic and likely land new shop owners. They wasted no time interrupting our session to ask if they could take a picture of us to appear in their campaign for the local TV stations. Of course, Dad handed them a ‘Casper Card’ when they asked my name. We agreed to the pictures and took the opportunity to point out the “rules”. It’s highly likely they will tag-line the pics with ‘Casper the friendly Dane.’ That’s okay, at this point everyone knows me. Mom will go places and people will tell her she looks familiar. She asks if they’ve seen the guy with the beard and the big dog. When they answer, yes, she says “That’s us!”

I think media coverage looks good on an SDP Dane. Don’t you?
