I just recently was made aware of a blog called the crumb diaries. This blog is written by an awesome mom of an even more awesome special needs teen named Logan. In her own words, “Logan is undiagnosed- but not because we haven’t searched high and low for answers. He has had extensive testing with some of the finest doctors in our area, and I am confident if anyone could give us a diagnosis, it would have been them. This is something I have dedicated my entire life to, we just haven’t found the answer yet.”

Logan is awesome. Did I mention that yet? We found out that Mr. Awesome (aka Logan) shares a birthday with our very own Mr. Pawsome (aka Casper). Now, that is cool. Big time cool! October 19th is officially Awesome Day. I think we should get a paid holiday! (Ok, it is a Saturday this year so we will take that holiday on the Monday after, kind of like President’s Day, only better. K?) Oh, and guess what! He lives right by SDP!!!! We are totally going to meet up there one day so he can meet and play with the danes!!!
So, yeah, that’s pretty exciting for us. But, wait, there’s more…
Logan’s birthday is going to the dogs!

You really should click it, but I will sum it up here. Logan doesn’t really care much about gifts for himself. So you know what he’s doing? (You would know if you clicked it.) He is giving his birthday money to the K9 unit of his local police department. Seriously. That is AWESOME!!! Awesome, I say.
Now, I am not asking anyone to send a donation. I mean, I am not going to stop you or anything, but don’t feel like that is what this is all about. (And you know, if you want to support a K9 unit that is a really cool thing!!!) BUT, (you knew there was a but, right?) I AM going to ask that all of you wonderful readers from all over the world send Logan a birthday card.
Yeah, that’s all. A card. I think this would be a wonderful way to celebrate Casper’s birthday by showing our love and support for another pawsome October 19th boy. Logan’s mom is collecting cards sent from everywhere to see how many and from where to present to Logan on his birthday. I just think that is really a sweet idea. And I KNOW you guys won’t fail me.
Logan obviously loves dogs, so dog cards are cool, but horse cards are even better! (I couldn’t find a horse one! I am soooo bummed!) So PLEASE find a horse or dog card and send it off to Logan. It would be great if you signed it with your name followed by “Casper the Friendly Dane fan” so he knows how you learned about him and he knows that some of Casper’s love goes with each card.

What are the chances of meeting someone with your birthdate. I think that is a great idea and I love that he is thinking about others on his birthday. I look forward to your reading your blog about meeting Awesome Logan and your trip to SDP.

What a wonderful young man Logan is….Mr. Awesome and Mr. Pawsome, cool!! Will get that card out today from the East Coast, Canada. I hope he receives a huge pile of cards from all over the world; can you imagine??? Casper, I can’t believe your first birthday is almost here; a big celebration at SDP, I’m sure! You and your family are definitely the most pawsome/awesome family and I really loved seeing you yesterday at the farm, especially when you were on “Jack’s” chair for your photo op….pawsome!
